Getting married to your best friend is often a hefty burden on the wallet. According to WeddingWire, the average U.S. wedding ceremony and reception venue costs $5,400, and Cost of Wedding estimated the total average cost of a Seattle wedding to be $33,702. Weddings in the Emerald City can be pricey, so finding an affordable venue for your special day in this area is often a problem.
Here are five places that will allow you to have the wedding of your dreams without breaking the bank.
Located in the Laurelhurst neighborhood in Seattle, the Villa Academy Chapel’s “high arched ceilings, large stained glass windows, and ornate stonework” make it a “jewel-like setting for your special day.”. The Chapel, which was renovated in 1991 after its construction in the 1920s can accommodate up to 220 guests. During peak season, prospective couples can rent out the venue for $1,250 for a 4.5-hour period.
The Stables has been a staple of the Georgetown neighborhood for over 100 years and has a unique style all its own. The venue’s main room comes complete with relics from the past, like a curved bar, jukeboxes, and a fireplace in the center of the room. It also has a beautiful courtyard outside, and combined the two are perfect for a more intimate gathering of friends and family for your wedding.
The Corson Building
Average Venue Price: $1,667
Rating: 4.7 stars (Out of 120 Google reviews)
Originally built as a home in 1926, the Corson Building spends most of its time as a restaurant, serving up incredible meals with ingredients sourced from local farms. Oh yeah, it also doubles as a wedding venue, a perfect place for a small gathering. Its lush, green patio area ensures you and your guests will dine in style, and you can work with the restaurant to craft a menu that is both mouth-wateringly good, and accommodates for any dietary restrictions your guests may have.
The Great Hall offers a more wide open, elegant setting and offers a blank canvas with which you can create the perfect wedding. The venue gives you the power to bring in the vendors you want, as it observes an open catering policy. Additionally, the Great Hall will provide all the tables and chairs you need, with public address and projector systems included.
When looking for an affordable, classy venue to hold your wedding in the heart of Downtown Seattle, it would be smart to include the Rainier Chapter House on your list. Similar to the Great Hall above, the Chapter House provides a clean slate, but also has exclusive lists of caterers and photographers. It combines historical charm and full functionality to give couples and their guests a great time at a wide variety of events.
